A prije i poslije toga… ništavilo?

From the moment you get born until the day you die, everything is moving, everything is in flux. Before and after that…stillness? Let us go for a ride and feel the movement of the world in the body, our temporary home.

Mobile Homes is a sound work for one person at a time. A performative drive through the streets of Zagreb in a mobile caravan. The work explores the relation between sound, space and movement. The visiting passenger will be situated in the back of the caravan, laying on a bed. The windows are covered, separating the outside world from the inside. As a passenger you have no access to visual orientation in the cityscape you’re being transported through. There is only the live sound feed from moving spaces; the city, the caravan and yourself. During the ride, the city will sound different, and so might the sound of your heartbeat, amplified as it is, a part of the sound work.

Mobile Homes is a work that centres on the urgent political notions of disorientation and distortion of spaces, through the use of sound. In a discotheque the sound of the bass can feel like a movement that enters your body and replaces the rhythm of your own heartbeat, changing the feeling of where you end, and the room, the music and the others begin. In Mobile Homes the sound and space of the city, the caravan and yourself will intertwine and you will not know who’s listening and who’s playing, what’s moving and what’s standing still.
