Publika je obično nemilosrdna u teatru. Mladi će umjetnici dati sve kako bi dobili pljesak nakon predstave. Kein Applaus für Scheisse [Ne trati svoj talent] cilja na večer punu osjećaja, uzbuđenja i iznenađenja. Dva izvođača – Florentina Holzinger and Vincent Riebeek – ne uzimaju uvijek naslov svog novog djela ozbiljno. Oni flertuju s granicama svega što je moguće na sceni i referiraju se na kanon body i performance arta 1970-ih godina kako bi ga također parodirali.
Oni zatim uzimaju elemente iz bogate tapiserije pop kulture: publika će prisustvovati interludiju na koturaljkama, pjevanju i akrobacijama u ovom komadu koji sa svakom novom izvedbom uključuje nove elemente dok druge izostavlja. Holzinger i Riebeek tijekom ovog veselog dueta ne skidaju pogled jedan s drugoga. Iskreni naslovu svoga djela, koreografija za dvoje uvijek riskira izgubiti svoj balans u slučaju da jedan od dvoje izvođača besramno pokuša ukrasti scenu za završni aplauz. Rezultat je iznenađujući portret generacije, nedodirljiv miks plesa, trash popa, kazališta, akrobacije i performansa.
The audience is often merciless in the theatre. Young artists give everything for applause following a performance. Kein Applaus für Scheisse [Don't Waste Your Talent] aims for an evening full of feelings, excitement, and surprises. The two performers – Florentina Holzinger and Vincent Riebeek – do not always take the title of their new work seriously. They are flirting with the limits of everything that is possible on stage and refer to the canon of 1970s body art and performance art in order to also parody it.
They further take up elements from pop culture’s rich tapestry: one may see roller skating interludes, singing, and acrobatics in this piece that with each new performance includes new elements while leaving out others. Holzinger and Riebeek do not once lose sight of each other during this cheerful duet. True to their work’s title, the choreography for two always risks losing its balance when one of the two performers flagrantly try to hog the stage for the closing applause. The result is a surprising portrait of contemporary pop culture’s rich tapestry: an intangible mixture of dance, trashy pop, theatre, roller skating interludes, acrobatics and performance.
